The Art of Packing a Soft Jacket

The Art of Packing a Soft Jacket

How to fold tailoring so it arrives the way it left.

A structured jacket fears the suitcase. A soft, unlined one is built for it — but only if you fold it the way the tailors do.

Turn one shoulder inside out and nest the other into it, so the canvas is never crushed against itself. Fold once at the waist, lay it on top of the bag rather than beneath, and it will arrive with nothing more than a travel crease that hangs out in an hour.

This is why we cut our travel tailoring half-lined and high-twist: not as a gimmick, but so the journey leaves no mark.
